Summary

[edit]
Description

Grand in proportions, the Grande Atlantico of Grimaldi Lines heads into Dublin Port, Ireland, at the start of voyage that will take it across Europe & down into West Africa.

Starting from Dublin on the 19th August, via Hamburg, Antwerp, Tilbury & Bilboa, then onto Dakar, Lome, Freetown, Lagos & finally Monrovia, eta 18th September.

There was substantial trade of second hand cars & vans between Ireland & Nigeria at the time, hence the port calling, with these specialised milk run co-ro ships by Grimaldi, always a pleasure to photograph these giants, now sadly missed.

Life's a journey, not a destination.
