Description
Français : Foyer d'affinage chinois (chaolu), utilisé dans le Sichuan au début du XXème siècle. Fait à partir d'un croquis de Luo Mian en 1936. Le combustible utilisé est du charbon de bois. Le principe de ce foyer d'affinage a été comparé au puddlage européen car les fumées sont dirigées au-dessus de la fonte à affiner.
English: Chinese fining hearth (chaolu), used in Sichuan in the begining of XXth century. Done from a sketch of Luo Mian in 1936. The fuel used is charcoal. The principle of this finery earth has been linked with the european puddling process because the fumes are driven up to the pig iron.
