This Niska building dates from the late 1800s. It was replaced by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and was recently renovated. The two poles are still in possession of the Niska nation, and two replicas are on display. I assume this was taken on the same trip as the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/tigerzombie/6622939133/">dogs in Skagway</a> in the 1920s. The building is certainly older (taken more recently) than an 1918 photo I've seen. It was rebuilt in 1940 (rebuilt through the 30s). Unlabeled photo found in an antique store's bargain bin. |
