Port Bannatyne. This is a rising watering place on Kames Bay, and is called almost as often Kamesburgh. Built picturesquely up a well-timbered hill, it looks on a pretty little harbour and the old tower of Kames Castle, dating from the 14th century, which stands in a park full of fine trees. Here John Sterling was born (1806).
