Die Quadiga des Brandenburger Tores, das von Johann Gottfried Schadow konzipierte kupferne Kunstwerk der Siegesgöttin mit Pferdegespann, wurde nach umfangreicher Restaurierung im Berliner Museum für Verkehr und Technik feierlich enthüllt.
Nach schweren Beschädigungen in der Silvesternacht 1989/1990 waren aufwendige Restaurierungsarbeiten erforderlich geworden, die mehr als 200 000 DM kosteten.

Zum 200. Geburtstag des Brandenburger Tores am 6.8.1991 wird die 1789 in Auftrag gegebene und 1794 fertiggestellte Quadrina wieder an ihrem alten Platz auf dem Brandenburger Tor sein.
