English: Detail of wrought-iron grillwork elevator shaft in the Bradbury Building, 304 South Broadway at West 3rd Street, Los Angeles, California. Commissioned by Lewis L. Bradbury; architectural design by Sumner Hunt and George Wyman. Completed in 1893. Design influenced by description of futuristic, utopian buildings in Edward Bellamy's Looking Backwards, 1887. Style is a blend of Italian Renaissance Revival, Romanesque Revival, and Chicago School. The building has been used as a set in a variety of movies, notably Blade Runner in 1982. Listed in U.S. Register of Historic Places, as U.S. National Landmark, and as a L.A. Historic Monument #6.
