Description:

Dessin provenant de l'album Destailleur, démonté en 1909, auparavant numéroté 57. Les dessins D.435, 437, 434, 452, 439, 438, 440 et 436 étaient montés sur la même feuille. Cet album contient plusieurs portraits de Bonington par Colin : les n°45 et 50 à 60.

Marques, inscriptions, poinçons: Numéro d'inventaire - Au recto, sur le dessin en bas à gauche, manuscrit à l'encre rouge : "ie.D.436".

Tampon - Au recto, sur le dessin en bas à droite, tampon à l'encre violette : "COLLECTION / DESTAILLEUR / VILLE / DE / PARIS" (cf : Lugt suppl. 668h). Inscription concernant le titre - Au recto, sur le dessin en bas à droite, manuscrit au crayon : "Bonington". Inscription - Au verso du dessin en bas à gauche, esquisse.

Bonington couché, croquis de voyage. Couché sur le côté gauche, la tête appuyée sur son bras, les jambes repliées. Il a un manteau et un chapeau. Il est appuyé sur des bagages ?
