Description

Wegweiser für Radler und Wanderer an der neuen Promenade am Schmachtener See. -

Der Schmachter See ist eiszeitlichen Ursprungs und ist etwa 118 Hektar groß. Die Tiefe in seiner Mitte liegt bei etwa zwei Metern. Am und im See leben eine Vielzahl an Tier- und Pflanzenarten. 40 Arten davon stehen auf der Roten Liste, wie z. B.: Rohrdommel, Graugans oder sogar See- und Fischadler. Am nördlichen Ufer grenzt der See an Binz. Hier wurden eine neue Promenade mit Brunnenanlage und auch der »Park der Sinne« neu erschaffen.
