Summary
[edit]DescriptionBg5 Bild 3.jpg |
English: Horses of the Wehrmacht: The fabric wrapping of the legs served primarily to protect them from "harsh" when riding off the cleared roads. At the same time, the bags were intended to reduce hoof clattering ("noise camouflage") - but this only worked for a short time. The sacks on the head were filled with some food; they were supposed to stop the horses from treacherous "neighing" and prevent the clearly visible clouds of breath in cold weather. These horses can be recognized as "riding horses" (due to their saddles) and were significantly better cared for than the pure draft and transport horses. |
