Description
Deutsch: Der Basaltsteinbruch befindet sich nordöstlich von Schloss Schaumburg, am Weg nach Balduinstein. Oberhalb des Steinbruchs befindet sich der Widmungsstein von 1788. Der Steinbruch besteht aus mehr oder minder waagerecht liegendem Säulenbasalt. Im Umfeld kommt auch Kugelbasalt vor. Bezüglich des erdgeschichtlichen Alters des Basalts finden sich aktuell (März 2023) unterschiedliche Angaben (vgl. gemeinde-balduinstein.de/tourismus/geologie und kuladig.de/Objektansicht/KLD-341984). Südlich oberhalb des Steinbruchs befindet sich der klassizistische Widmungsstein von 1788.
