Summary
[edit]DescriptionBarking railway station geograph-2201827.jpg |
English: Fenchurch Street - Shoeburyness train approaching Barking. View westward, towards London; ex-London, Tilsbury & Southend (LT&S, Midland from 1912) line, six months before it was electrified from 6/11/61. The train, 12.25 from Fenchurch Street, with LMS-type Fairburn 4MT 2-6-4T No. 42255, is on the Down Fast line and will take the direct route via Becontree. The Slow lines, leading towards Dagenham Dock and Tilbury are over on the far side, beyond the flyover opened on 11/5/59 to carry the Up Tilbury traffic onto the Tottenham & Forest Gate (T&FG) line to Gospel Oak, Kentish Town and St Pancras. In the foreground are the London Transport District/Metropolitan fourth-rail electric lines and nearest is the Down T&FG line. |
