English: A U.S. Marine with Battalion Landing Team 2/6, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), uses a metal detector to sweep for simulated improvised explosive device course (IED) while participating in a counter IED course Feb. 25, 2016, in Kuwait. The U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and Kuwait Armed Forces are conducting PHIBLEX 16, a bilateral amphibious and ground exercise, to enhance operational readiness and improve interoperability between U.S. and regional partner forces. The 26th MEU is embarked with the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
