Nederlands: Asashina Saburô is in dienst van Kudô Suketsune, de schurk uit het Verhaal van de Soga broeders. Grote ronde rijstkoeken (kagamimochi) worden voor het nieuwe jaar gemaakt en gebroken als toetsing van kracht op de tiende dag van het nieuwe jaar. Met één gedicht.
