Description
Español: Imagen del siglo XIX (mas de 100 años) del Arco de Triunfo instalado a la entrada de la calle Larga (El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz) en 1862 con motivo del paso por la ciudad de Isabel II acompañada del rey consorte Francisco de Asís y dos de sus hijos: la infanta Isabel (La Chata) y el príncipe de Asturias (luego Alfonso XII), de 10 y 4 años, respectivamente. En el amplio séquito que acompañaba a la familia real destacaba el general Leopoldo O’Donnell, presidente del conocido como Gobierno Largo (1858-1863) de la Unión Liberal, el más duradero de todo el convulso siglo XIX español. Fue un quinquenio relativamente próspero y apacible, si bien el deterioro de la situación política y social en el campo andaluz -revuelta de Loja (Granada) en 1861- aconsejaba que la reina visitara la región.
