Title
An April Fool Joke
Description
In the Ohio situation, Charles Dick encourages William Taft to step back - and thus fall over Joe Foraker; 'who's the joke going to be on?' as the much larger Taft will end up sitting on Foraker's back. Dick and Foraker were political allies, working to get Foraker the 1908 presidential nomination in place of fellow Ohioan Taft, but Taft was far more popular in the state.
