Description |
Photograph of Alfred Kelley's mansion. The home is an example of Greek Revival architecture and was later used as the Governor's Mansion. Construction was completed in 1838. Kelley was a lawyer, banker, canal commissioner, the Cuyahoga County Prosecuting Attorney 1810-1822, Ohio House of Representatives 1814-1823 and 1836-1839, and State Senator 1844-46. He also founded the first railroad to come to Columbus, the Columbus and Xenia, which arrived February 25, 1850. The Christopher Inn was built on this site in 1963. |
