English: A9 Drum House on Ponc Llangristiolus We are into the poor relative territory here. Compared with drum houses lower down the incline, such as A2 or A3, this is a pretty insignificant building - a lean-to roofed with rough slabs of slate. It consists of two drums on a common axle. The breaking mechanism is likewise unusual, each drum controlled by curved wooden blocks attached to the ends of timber uprights. One of these is visible in the photograph. The pitch operated by this drumhouse is shown in the following photographs:
