Description

JFK Bridge in distance. Towboat "Kenova" upbound. . Twin screw towboat "Kenova" (doc. # 276500, length 146 feet , width 31 feet, GM 16-567C diesels, 3200 HP). Built in 1958 by St. Louis Shipbuilding & Steel Co., St. Louis, Missouri. Originally named "Robert E. Reed", the boat was first owned by Wheeling [W. Va.] Steel Corp.. In 1967, the boat was sold to Midland Enterprises, Cincinnati, Ohio, and renamed "Kenova". From 1983 to 2002, the boat was operated by R&W Marine, Paducah, Kentucky. In 2002, the boat was sold to Ozark Transportation LLC, Paducah, and renamed "Cowboy Carl". Operated by Western Rivers Boat Management, Paducah. . Ohio River mile 604. Louisville, Kentucky. April 1988. file # 88d066.
