Description

-- 50mm f/1.4 S-M-C Takumar (Radioactive)

This lens has a glass element in the rear group (reported to be the one next to the aperture diaphragm) containing radioactive thorium oxide.

Taken with a Canon T2i/550D and Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens at f/6.3. 50 1/15-second exposures at ISO100 in a focus stack (DoF stack) were combined with Zerene Stacker in DMAP mode. The exposures were spaced by pressing the ">" button on the EOS utility live-view screen. This is a 50% crop of the original image.

See: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ozOMssiP2E for radioactivity measured with a geiger counter.
