English: An incomplete silver gilt "fede" finger ring. A thin silver gilt band with external cast decoration of alternating annulets with a small cross inside and vertical lines of two half annulets flanking a small annulet. The bezel is in the form of two clasped hands with a heart above, the complete hand (on the left) has a frilled cuff. The other hand is broken off at the wrist and there is a section of the band missing at this point. Inside the band is an incomplete incised inscription in capital letters: Clasped hands appear on rings from the 15th century, but the combination of decorative style, the frilled cuff and the inscription suggest it is likely to be of late 16th to early 17th century date.
