English: Soldiers from the 2nd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment and the 4th Aerial Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade worked with the 2-1 Cavalry Aug. 18 at the Rodriguez Live Fire Complex in South Korea. Using OH-58 Kiowa helicopters and AH-64 Apache helicopters, the 2-6th Cavalry and 4-2nd Aviation Regiment supported the unit with their Table 12 gunnery exercise. As the ground unit pushed forward, the helicopters provided aerial reconnaissance and security. The 2nd CAB units were also able to hone their skills by firing and using aerial movement during the exercise. After the Kiowas and Apaches were done the 2-1 Cavalry had taken simulated casualties. That's when a nine-line medical evacuation was called in, and the UH-60 Black Hawk started its engines.
The Black Hawk lifted up with speed and made a sharp turn toward their destination. Coming in for the landing the crew chief and flight medic looked out of the windows and made sure the area was clear. After given the okay, the pilots landed with a purpose and the flight medic jumped out and rushed to aid the wounded Soldiers on the ground. Once all of injured were on board, the doors were closed and the Black Hawk took off back to the safe area. The 2nd CAB was able to show its many aerial capabilities while providing support for and strengthening trust with the 2-1 Cavarly during the entire exercise.
