English: Die Linksfraktion im Bundestag lud zu einer Fachtagung zum Thema WHO ein: Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) ist allgemein als Leitungs- und Koordinierungsinstanz in der globalen Gesundheitsarchitektur anerkannt. Doch in der letzten Dekade hat sie eine finanzielle Abhängigkeit von zweckgebundenen Beiträgen entwickelt, während die flexibleren Pflichtbeiträge stetig zurückgegangen sind. Private Geber wie die Bill & Melinda Gates Stiftung erhalten so Einfluss auf die Prioritätensetzung in der globalen Gesundheit. Diese Privatisierungstendenz stellt die Neutralität der WHO in Frage. Die Umsetzung des UN-Entwicklungsziels 3 »Gesundheit und Wohlergehen« für alle umfasst mehr als die Stärkung von Gesundheitssystemen. Es muss gesellschaftliche Lebensumstände und Verteilungsfragen mit berücksichtigen.
Die WHO befindet sich in einem Reformprozess. Wie können die WHO und die globale Gesundheit so verändert werden, dass das UN-Entwicklungsziel 3 erreicht wird? |
