Description
English: Looking southeast at the site of 12312 and 12314 Auburndale Avenue (left) and 1423 and 1435 Lakeview Road in the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, where a part of the "Glenville shootout" occurred on July 23-24, 1968.

12312 Auburndale is on the left. This is not the home which was there in 1968, but a new home built some time in the 1980s or 1990s. The empty lot to the right of the new house is where 12314 Auburndale Avenue stood. That was the home of Ahmed Evans, leader of the Black Nationalists of New Libya -- a militant Black Power group.

The duplex to the right is 1435 Lakeview. To its left was Dallas Supermarket (about 1431 Lakeview). Between 12314 Auburndale and Dallas Supermarket, facing right toward the photographer, was the Lakeview Tavern.
