Description

Following on from the recent discussions with the recorders here in Hertfordshire, I decided to pick two good candidates for each species of Notocelia (trimaculana & roseocolana from Bramfield Woods from last Tuesday) Dissected recently by Graeme J Smith my hunch was correct and I was able to identify these two. But, I must add. These were very clear cut specimens. It is my first confirmed record EVER of roseocolana. I will be collecting more samples the next time I trap these particular species.

Of course, there is also Notocelia roborana! Which also resides locally in some sites here in Hertfordshire (Pictured specimen is from Ashwell Quarry last year).

More specimens are required to see whether there are any correlation with external markings and to provide a definitive grading evaluation of the pair.
