Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2024 in Libya
Wiki Loves Monuments is an international photographic competition to promote historic sites around the World through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons).
This year, Libya participates for the first time, and you are encouraged to submit any of your photos (new or old) of monuments in Libya between 21st September and 21st October 2024. Everybody can participate. By submitting your photos to the competition, you share and help preserve the cultural heritage of Libya with the rest of the world. We will explain below how to participate, what you can win and what monument sites are eligible and the Freedom of Panorama in Libya.
At the end of the month, the contest jury will begin evaluating the photographs and will choose the best 10 pictures of the monuments in Libya.

Competition rules
We try to keep the competition clean and simple to participate. There are only a few rules for photos to participate in the contest in Libya. Let's quickly go through them.
All entries must be your own work; do not manipulate original images and make sure that there is no visible watermarks.
All photos must be uploaded within September 21 to October 21 2024, to be eligible.
All photos must be under a free license.
Participants must have an active email account.
Lists of eligible sites are published below.
Captions and description are required.
Make sure that you are not uploading duplicate images.
All photos must have at least 2Mpx.
Next to that, there are a few practical rules and advice:

Name your photos well.
Upload images.
Do not forget to add categories to your picture – it will be helpful to everyone looking for it!

The Jury
jury will process the images through two or three rounds during November.
At the end of this process, the jury determines the top-10.
Judging criteria
The jury will determine the winners of the international contest taking into consideration the following criteria (in no particular order):
- Technical quality (sharpness, use of light, perspective, etc.);
- Originality;
- Usefulness of the image for Wikipedia.
