Yung6

[edit]
[edit]

Rationale

[edit]
  • Reason: See COM:AN/U#Da Man2 (talk • contribs). Specificially, Da Man2 began editing frequently just after Yung6 got blocked, and both do the same thing; changing images without discussion, reverting users (both the creators of the image and administrators) 3, 4, 7, 8 times on both image versions and edits to images on templates, etc. They edit the same images, and converse in the same manner.

The user Mr. Bas, and his other sockpuppets (confirmed by a CU by gmaxwell, IIRC, if necessary I suppose I can compile a list) had a very similar way of acting, changing images, especially on templates. Yonatan talk 14:22, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not a sockpuppet. I simply live next door to Yung6 and we have the same IP. Da Man2 19:00, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yonatan, I'm confused by the above, the check Gmaxwell did was in early May. Is a new check required? If you have a list please add it to the suspected users, above. Editor at large, those are histories, not diffs, unless I am much mistaken. ++Lar: t/c 19:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Lar; yes they are, my mistake :) -- Editor at Largetalk 20:20, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Lar, I added Mr. Bas to the list as I believed he was related (something which turned out to be true), I merely added an explanation for the addition as Editor at Large didn't really encounter him. :) Yonatan talk 12:27, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added 71.233.232.243 to the list as Ltljltlj believed it was related per this edit.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:28, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hope that helps. If you see a pattern of abusive behaviour from Da Man2 (I did see a lot of non abusive contributions, I have to say) you may want to block with account creaton disabled. I leave that to your discretion. ++Lar: t/c 19:55, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
 Support I would support such a block.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:30, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bryan did it. We don't necessarily need to seek support, just do it, and if it needs fixing, fix it later. ++Lar: t/c 13:29, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Thought to Consider

[edit]

I noticed that one of the comments above was "I live next door to..." the original subject of this discussion. While I personally don't buy that excuse, in this case, it should be pointed out that this situation isn't totally out of the realm of possibilities. For example, if user B is utilizing a wireless network to connect to the Internet, the possibility is very real that they could be using that wireless network to "steal" their Internet access from user A, the original subject of this thread. While this doesn't strike me as an action worthy of a Wikipedia user utilizing the site in good faith, we can't penalize the action.

Respectfully submitted, --207.67.94.238 03:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
