Fagradalsfjall eruption of 2021
Hello,
As you may be aware, the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland erupted on March 19, 2021, sparking wide media interest. Two images currently appear in the category for the eruption, however, they are both possibly non-free media, and thus subject to deletion.
I need an Iceland-based photographer (or a photographer who is able to travel to Iceland) to travel to the site and take some freely-licensed images of the eruption. Please follow all safety protocols related to both the possibility of eruptive gases and other volcanic hazards, as well as COVID-19.
I thank you in advance for contributing to the record of this historic event.

Scan needed of Low Life: A Comedy in One Act (1925) by Mazo de la Roche
This is a call to the community to create a full scan PDF/DJVU of a very rare ~40 page script for a Canadian play first produced in 1925. There currently exists no scan of this anywhere on the Internet to be found. It went into the public domain in the US this year, and has been in the public domain in Canada since 2011. I also can't find anywhere online that I can buy this book.
Here are all the libraries where this text can be found: https://www.worldcat.org/title/low-life/oclc/678885898
In particular, those at the University of Georgia, those who live in New York City with access to the New York Public Library, or those who live in various areas of Ontario or Québec, see if you could upload a scan of this text to Commons? The text will be transcribed at Wikisource once this is done. Please and thank you. PseudoSkull (talk) 17:33, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- Request retracted because I found a seller and I have proceeded to buy a copy. It should arrive within sometime less than a month. Hopefully this will work out. PseudoSkull (talk) 18:37, 11 July 2021 (UTC)

Conductor photos
Hi. In my sandbox over on Wikipedia, I am working on an expansion of the Sibelius choral symphony Kullervo. Three conductors that were important to the piece's history are: 1) Jussi Jalas, in 1958; 2) Paavo Berglund, in 1970; and, Kenneth Schermerhorn, in 1979. At present, Wikimedia does not appear to have an image for Schermerhorn; and, the images of Jalas and or Berglund are not particularly good, in that they contain other individuals. Would it be possible for someone with experience in image hunting and licensing to undertake this project for me? Preferably, the images (if possible) would be somewhat close to the respective dates listed above. Thanks 2604:2D80:5902:C00:C109:28C1:8817:BA89 22:45, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

Chicago L 7000 series train
I’m looking for a replacement for the image on 7000-series (CTA) which is a rendering and is non-free. As they are currently being tested in Chicago, there are lots of photos of it available online, however, I am not able to find one that has a free license.
As they are currently testing and not in revenue service, they can be testing on any line on any day. However, if you ever spot a 7000 series train (whether it is on a main track or stored at a rail yard), it will be helpful if you can take a picture of it to upload onto Commons. Images for the new main category Category:Pictograms on things
I have created a new category Category:Pictograms on things for images of pictograms applied on things in everyday life or special/professional applications. A few examples out of many millions in the world: Play-Symbol (Arrow) on CD/DVD/BluRay/MP3 Players, washing symbols in garment, symbols on all switches/knobs in cars, etc. Surprisingly, there were only categories for the depictions of those pictograms themselves (purely), but not for those applied in 'real life'. I made about 10 sub categories already and filled in a lot of files both newly taken by me and cropped from existing files, but there are about 99.9 % of all those existing pictograms still missing (joking). So I want to encourage to take photographs of such pictograms - which is both interesting and surprising, once you see that these little symbols are present virtually everywhere. New sub categories also very welcome, of course. Pittigrilli (talk) 09:06, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Do you need something that shows just the hatch, or something that illustrates the location of the hatch in a vessel? Red Roan (talk) 01:57, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @Red Roan. Thanks for getting in touch with me. I was looking for a picture similar to what was shown in the article i linked to, for an article on the nowiki. The picture was going to be used as an illustration of a well hatch, because the article mentions something about an accident that occurred on one of the vessels, where a crew member died because of a failure in the hatch's hydraulics. I needed the picture for this and this article, however it would be useful for other articles as well, as there are many missing pictures related to the wellship / fish carrier industry on commons. Small detail: the part that enters the skin should just be transparent tubing; the illustration makes it look like the needle is still present, this is only used for the punction and then removed. —-WS (talk) 20:07, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi. Google Arts and Culture has a very high resolution version of the painting we have at a much lower resolution as File:Derich Berck, by Hans Holbein.jpg. Request for photograph of Abel Landén's villa on Iso Vasikkasaari
The article w:Iso Vasikkasaari mentions "probably the most unusual building in Espoo", a private villa commissioned by banker Abel Landén, resembling a Greek temple to the god Poseidon. However neither the article or the Finnish article it was translated from contain any picture of this villa. There should be one to illustrate what is so unusual about this building.
The villa itself cannot be visited just like that as it's a private building on private property. An exterior photograph taken from a passing boat or ship will suffice just fine.
The coordinates for the island as a whole can be found in the article: https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?pagename=Iso_Vasikkasaari¶ms=60_8_24_N_24_45_40_E_
The villa itself is in the extreme northwestern corner: https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?pagename=Iso_Vasikkasaari¶ms=60_8_34.6_N_24_45_27.5_E_

Réunion hotspot animation
I have come to read two articles in geophysics by Quanta Magazine each containing a great interactive animation of a geological structure accompanying the text, the respective wikipedia article for one of these structures has similar animation but not the article for the other one which contains only a image of a volcano but not of the relevant geological structure so an animation would greatly help illustrate that article.

Réunion hotspot | quanta magazine | wikipedia (no animation) |
-The animation for the Large low-shear-velocity provinces in wikipedia was uploaded by a user who hasn't been active since 2017
-The animation of the Réunion hotspot in quanta magazine was created with sketchfab

Tsunami deposit photograph
Hi there. I'd like a picture of a Tsunami deposit (sometimes called Tsunamiite). Thanks. Mateussf (talk) 22:17, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
Jack Hadley Black History Museum, Thomasville, Georgia
I'd like a usable pic of this place for WP-use [4], please. Just the sign like at [5] would work, but I'd like to see more of the building. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:25, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
