Copyright: there's no convincing evidence of CC-by-SA license. CorrectIT90 describes these as (i) his or her own work, and (ii) by Sergio Franzoi. But CorrectIT90 describes Franzoi as having died. Thus CorrectIT90 can't be Franzoi, and can't describe these as their own work.

It's about the paintings. Franzoi died in 2022, so the COM:VRT procedure is required. --Achim55 (talk) 09:37, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the report, but the paintings were added to commons before Franzoi's death, so sorry but I don't understand the copyright problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorrectIT90 (talk • contribs) 10:42, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I took the photographs of the paintings but the paintings are by Franzoi... — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorrectIT90 (talk • contribs) 10:47, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The important thing to understand is: copyright is complicated. Very simplified: for copyright purposes, an accurate 2-dimensional representation of a 2-dimensional image is considered equivalent to the original. You cannot void Franzoi's copyright simply by photographing his paintings. DS (talk) 18:38, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok sorry I didn't know that it's not possible. I had changed the source of the photos because it was wrong as there is no copyright infringement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorrectIT90 (talk • contribs) 13:04, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I modified all the sources and the authors that I noticed had spelling errors and therefore in reality when "sf" was written as author there should have been my nickname. Also I saw that the source was wrong because since I'm new to Wikipedia I marked it as source own but I had to insert "self-photograph" sorry for the misunderstanding. Now the copyright issue should be affixed since as I said, I took the photos. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorrectIT90 (talk • contribs) 13:18, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete all. There are two potential copyrights here.
The first is that of the original artist, who painted these works, Sergio Franzoi (1929 – 2022). The copyright here will typically extend to 70 years after the artist's death and will be held by their estate. If we have artist's works here on Commons, it's usually because they're either long dead, they (or their estate) have licensed a few representative works specifically, or their whole oeuvre has been given to a museum who have since chosen to license them freely for the public good.
The second copyright would be that generated when the artwork is photographed, processed and turned into the digital copy here. But in most cases, this (for 2D art) is seen as a simple 'mechanical' process and does not generate a new copyright (complex photography of sculptures, or deliberate posing of artworks might do).
The problem here is the first. They're still the artist's copyright. Only their estate (or whoever now holds the rights) can grant a licence to reproduce them here. We don't have that. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:44, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How can I prove that I have had permission to photograph the paintings? Because as I said, I have the photos personally but they can also be found online on other sites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorrectIT90 (talk • contribs) 13:58, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Increasingly, art museums permit the photography of their holdings (often with conditions: no flash, no tripod, etc). If I found paintings by Franzoi in such a museum, permission to photograph these works would not give me copyright of those works. Also, if photographs of these works appeared on other websites, this in itself would say nothing about the works' copyright status. -- Hoary (talk) 13:00, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination. Copyright (c) Sergio Franzoi (1929-2022). —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 17:42, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
