[edit]Recent (2000-present) copyrighted murals. US does not have freedom of panorama for artworks.
- File:"Everything Must Go!" mural by Daniel Doherty, Clarion Alley, San Francisco, CA, 2016.jpg
- Delete Mural is primary subject, therefore copyvio. — BriefEdits (talk) 23:45, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- File:"Evict Google" mural by Corrina Goldblatt, Clarion Alley, San Francisco, CA, 2016.jpg
- Delete Mural is primary subject, therefore copyvio. — BriefEdits (talk) 23:45, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- File:"Living Street" mural by WHOLE9, Clarion Alley, San Francisco, CA, 2016.jpg
- Keep: This "Living Street" photo shows an artistic perspective on this public place, with parts of several murals, not a faithful reproduction of any particular mural. Dreamyshade (talk) 17:05, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- A large part of the image (about half) is a single copyrighted mural. This is far above what is allowed under de minimis. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 01:15, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: This can honestly just be cropped if it's an issue. — BriefEdits (talk) 23:45, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

- Against deletion: the 2015-08-06-Clarion Alley.jpg file is intended to portrait a public place, not its murals in particular. — Preceding unsigned comment added by M. B., Jr. (talk • contribs) 02:57, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- Keep: I agree with this comment against deletion - this shows an artistic perspective on a public place with a portion of a mural, instead of being a reproduction of just a mural. Dreamyshade (talk) 17:05, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- As above, the primary subject of the image is the murals, making it ineligible for de minimis. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 01:15, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
- Weak keep The main street is the primary subject. Clarion Alley is also known for murals, so it's impossible to capture it without some murals being in the shot. Some of the text in this photo is illegible, so I feel like it's fine? I could be wrong here — BriefEdits (talk) 05:47, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
- Could just crop if necessary. — BriefEdits (talk) 05:50, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

- As above, the primary subject of the image is the murals, making it ineligible for de minimis. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 01:15, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
- This photo (among others on this deletion list) has historic value and would not be easily replaced in Wikipedia articles, and I'm up for writing a fair use justification over on Wikipedia. Is there any simple tool for transferring a file from Commons to Wikipedia? Dreamyshade (talk) 03:58, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Dreamyshade: Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a good tool like there is for enwiki-->Commons imports; you'll probably have to download it and save locally. Per the NFCC, it's unlikely that more than one non-free photo will be allowed for use in the article. That's not a reflection of historic value - I would love to have all these images available - but of the absurdity of US copyright law. I will tag this DR for undeletion of the files when their copyright is expired. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 22:31, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

- Keep: This "Clarion Alley, San Francisco USA - panoramio" photo primarily shows the street sign, with a small portion of a painting that probably wouldn't even be complex enough to have a strong copyright interest. Dreamyshade (talk) 17:05, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
