This deletion discussion is now closed. Please do not make any edits to this archive. You can read the deletion policy or ask a question at the Village pump. If the circumstances surrounding this file have changed in a notable manner, you may re-nominate this file or ask for it to be undeleted.

This file was initially tagged by Nclm as no source (No source since) - however as it in use. Was on en:wiki and transferred by Túrelio, I would like to bring this to Deletion Nomination for potential fix. Ellin Beltz (talk) 14:46, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copying here what I wrote a few days ago on the talk page:
If it is a self portrait (probably not taken with the camera seen on the picture, but another one with a timer maybe), then the author has died less than 70 years ago (Ylla died in 1955). Unless there is some public domain exception due to the era or her nationality, in which case the license tag should probably be one of the specific PD one. The other valid solution is that it is a self portrait and the uploaded Pryor Dodge is a descendant and the current copyright older, but I can’t see any mention on that on their website.
Before deleting, we do need to get in touch with User_talk:Waverley123 to see if they are, as claimed, the copyright holder. It might be true and in that case the file can stay. ~ nicolas (talk) 17:52, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I got an answer from Pryor Dodge, alias Waverley123, through e-mail:
“I inherited the Ylla estate and the rights to her work (I can provide a copy of her last will and testament). I uploaded the photo. The photo of Ylla was taken by her friend and colleague Eric Schaal. He took a number of photos of Ylla and gave her the negatives for her use for publicity. I scanned the negative.”Pryor Dodge/Waverley123
This seems alright to me? The file description should probably be updated. Should we go through OTRS possibly? ~ nicolas (talk) 19:07, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Per comment from Nicolas. Please ask them to go through OTRS to make sure everything is as watertight as possible. --Green Giant (talk) 20:53, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Great, I just did that. ~ nicolas (talk) 17:59, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
