This 20-year old flag was designed by Paul Kraabel for the city of Seattle, Washington. Ak282 (talk · contribs) may not claim this as their own copyright, nor may they release the copyrights of others into the public domain. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 06:48, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- That can depend. If someone draws their own version of a written design, they would own the copyright to that particular drawing. That said, it does seem as though this bitmap was simply copied from somewhere else, and it is possible the city has pretty much just one representation which you see everywhere, so it is rather unlikely that the uploader can claim copyright. Which then gets to the next question... what exactly is the law defining the flag? If a graphic was included in the law, that graphic would be PD, as the content of laws in the U.S. are public domain. Carl Lindberg (talk) 15:24, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- The city resolution (no law) only talks about a flag being adopted. No construction details are provided except in a book published by w:NAVA called "American City Flags" (pg 329-330 has the details on Seattle's flag). The first image was just a scale down from http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/us-wa-se.html and not sure where the second image came from. I would say Delete.
