Inaccurate range for European wildcat, which is also found in Turkey and the Caucasus. Thenabster126 (talk) 23:37, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Thenabster126: If you can link to an image of the European Wildcat's true range (e.g. not like [1], which combines the European and African Wildcats' ranges) then I can make a free rangemap to replace this. --PresN (talk) 01:47, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Would the current map on the Wikipedia page count?Thenabster126 (talk) 01:59, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The map is based on a reliable source and disagreement with a sourced map is not grounds for deletion. The taxonomy of wildcats and borders of different species/subspecies has been fluid so accepted opinions may change again. Furthermore, this map seems to give an appropriate range for the subspecies Felis silvestris silvestris as currently defined. However, the new map (only uploaded two days ago) does seem a better map to include for the species article, although unfortunately it gives no source for the range.
