Wrong and misinforming emblem. File:Suomen Ilmavoimien tunnus.svg should be used instead as it is based on the real emblem of the FAF. Msaynevirta (talk) 22:44, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- Delete. --Kwasura (talk) 07:46, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Keep The circle of wings' formulation in the emblem Ilmavoimat.svg is based on the military pilots mark and air force emblem designed by Akseli Gallen-Kallela (same here). In addition, on the top of the circle is a rising heraldic rose, not a crown. Also the golden (not yellow) eagle has symmetric wings (on same level).
- Instead, the file Suomen Ilmavoimien tunnus.svg is based on the emblem, which in turn has taken - from Wikipedia's Suomen Ilmavoimien tunnus.svg(!)
- Sincerely, --FAF Flags (talk) 14:40, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- The current offical emblem is on the FAF's website, and this file doen't correspond with it because of the changes you made. Gallen-Kallelas original emblem is from the year 1918, and the emblem on FAF's website was published in 2011. I think we should stick to the more recent one and delete Ilmavoimat.svg. --Msaynevirta (talk) 19:11, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- As You can notice from the FAF's website, the forms for circle of wings' and rising heraldic rose of the current official emblem are based on the on the military pilots mark and air force emblem designed by Akseli Gallen-Kallela and same here (Wikimedia Commons). You may have also noticed, that the text in the FAF's website (under headline Ilmavoimien tunnuksen historiaa, updated 7th October 2013) is borrowed almost word by word from Wikipedia's article Suomen ilmavoimat. Same with the emblem: it has been taken from Wikipedia, the Suomen Ilmavoimien tunnus.svg, version 5th August 2006 or 18th August 2011. Sincerely, --FAF Flags (talk) 22:02, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think that the problem with your emblem is the part based on Gallen-Kallela's military pilot's mark, but more the eagle in the middle. Where you have found it and why does it look so stupid when compared to the eagle on this file? Also, why have you removed all bordering from the middle part and the eagle? --Msaynevirta (talk) 09:09, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- Now the eagle's wings are heraldic, i.e. symmetric, on the same level. The eagle has also border colour of the background, like the lion on the file Suomen Puolustusvoimien tornileijona.svg and Suomen Merivoimien tunnus.svg. Sincerely, --FAF Flags (talk) 11:45, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think that the bordering of the eagle can really be deduced from the other embelms of the Finnish Defence Forces. Also, why have you made such radical changes to the face of the eagle? What are they based on? In this situation, I see the Suomen ilmavoimien tunnus.svg as the only file that has some sources backing it whether they were based on Wikipedia or not. They are still published by the Air Force and are thus official. I see the file Ilmavoimat.svg as unsourced and misleading until you or someone else shows me source material supporting it (and by that i don't mean the Gallen-Kallela's pilot's mark, the material should show the Air Force's current emblem and be approved by the Defence Forces or Air Force). --Msaynevirta (talk) 22:29, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- You may have noticed, that I have changed the eye of the eagle. As for the circle of wings and the ascending heraldic rose on the top (not a crown!), they are based on the war pilots' mark by Gallen-Kallela. Sincerely, --FAF Flags (talk) 17:22, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

- @Fry1989 and Amitie 10g: What do you two think? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 01:10, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Comment: Whm, reading the above discussion, I consider the both emblems heraldicaly equivalent. Official version does not apply to Heraldry (only versions made by government entities may be considered as official), unless this emblem does not match the Blazon. But this file is currently unused rather than Commons, but still usable. so Keep. --Amitie 10g (talk) 02:11, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- File:Suomen Ilmavoimien tunnus.svg appears to be nearly identical to that on the Finnish Air Force's website. Fry1989 eh? 05:27, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
