Sorry, nothing against French here! (I'm one of 'em!).
Just meaning, there's not supposed to be ANY text in images, so they can be used by projects in all languages. At least I read this Commons policy somewhere.
And that was just one lesser reason anyway, but since it's in use, well, just got to wait until someone comes up with a good version.
(Not me: I don't know a thing about svg).
