Keep A number of these flags are used very commonly even if they aren't official. A flag doesn't need to be "official" to be included on commons - unofficial flags can be encyclopaedic too. The way to deal with this is to have a statement at the top of the category saying the flags aren't official. --Arvind (talk) 00:21, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

- SUggestion to name the category correctly: Category:Flags of states of India. That should avoid the confusion. --Foroa (talk) 06:18, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- No that is also not correct, because some flags are not even used unofficially as a state flag. Some are from ethnic groups, separist groups or old princely states. If we really need to rename it, I suggest it to rename it to "Category:Other flags of India". --.....jeroencommons..... 12:39, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
