- This picture was taken by me for a drone photo in 2017 and taken from a public place. This IP user don't provide any evidence for copyvio. Besides, according to this file past edit history, this IP and one of the banned users (Abcdefghixx) have already banned before due to the spam message and inappropriate editing. Another IP user 138.19.24.64 also has a non-senses delete request and has been reverted by other users, it was even banned by the administrator due to "continued vandalism". - I made this myself using Inkscape. About the Copyright, even as a Maltese myself, I don't know if parties copyright their party logos. Could I be guided instead of threatened with a block? Mtonna257 (talk) 05:49, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- Update 2: I looked more rigorously on social media, and the party's website. No sign of anything close to a copyright statement. Plus, the words "Partit Popolari" are only words in Arial font. You are not a European citizen, you are not a specialist in European law (even less in French law since you do not speak French). On Wiki you are not enforcing a right that you do not know, but you are pursuing obscure reasons.
1 Le Parlement Européen de Strasbourg bien que situé sur le territoire français n'appartient pas à la France. Il appartient à la Communauté Européenne comme son nom l'indique. Pour tout ce qui concerne le parlement européen il faut vous référer aux lois européennes. The European Parliament in Strasbourg, although located on French territory, does not belong to France. 2 Si vous persistez à vouloir vous référer à la loi française sur la Propriété des droits d'auteurs, sachez que cette loi (comme la plupart des lois françaises est extrêmement compliquée à comprendre. - Un, il y a le Texte. - Deux, il y a l'Esprit. - Trois, il y a l'Usage. - Quatre, les Contrats de Droits privés qui tout en faisant dérogation à la loi générale sont considérés comme légaux. - Cinq, les multiples exceptions référencées ou pas. - Six, SURTOUT il y a la JURISPRUDENCE qui dit comment la loi doit s'appliquer. Avez-vous consulté la jurisprudence en ce qui concerne le parlement européen de Strasbourg ?

(except with the explicit authorization of the architect for each picture !)" Before censoring the work of others, it seems to me that it would be wise, honest to take all the information possible.
5 This is not a simple error of assessement but an unfounded, authoritarian decision. Your immoderate taste for censorship damages Wiki ! If you really love Wiki, I suggest you quit your supervisor activity. Or, at minimum, strongly moderate yourself.

- @Celeda, a couple of years ago there was a motion in the EP to apply Freedom of Panorama throughout the EU. Of course there was a counter-motion to completely abolish Freedom of Panorama throughout the EU. In the end nothing was changed. During that debate I had a lengthy discussion in French with a French member of the EP. He explained that France just is not willing to let big Internet platforms gain money with royalty-free photos of French objects. So I assume WC will have to delete these pictures. The only other possible way it could be used on Commons is if you own Hymonutho and can prove that to the Commons:Volunteer Response Team. It is actually a public domain drawing obtained from Syriac Orthodox monastery of Saint Ananias (Deir al Zafarain). Hymonutho does not have copy rights over this image. - All of the Quarr Abbey, Rowner and Alver Valley photos were taken by my camera / phone. They are my personal photos. Some have been on my Facebook and that of the Facebook pages of members of my family for sometime. I am a regular visitor to Quarr Abbey, where I go on retreat. The Alver Valley one more recently. I have always believed my uncle took the Blackpool one back in 1975, it has however been in the public eye for many years. That structure was built after 2 devastating floods in the area. It's pretty hard to photograph 3 miles of mural in one pic just saying. - re File:Pueblo World Record Levee Mural.JPG, then re-upload at en:WP and delete here, see COM:FOP US. It would meet WP:NFC as an illustration of a notable visual artwork (although some editors at en:WP will inevitably disagree), so would be acceptable at WP (even though still under copyright), but not at Commons. However US law is such that 2D art isn't covered under FoP. It would have helped if the nominator had linked to our page explaining this.
- If the project has "a dedicated coordinator", then they might even themselves be able to arrange provision of a licensed image of this, if they could get all of their contributors to agree to such. - I never intended to show any disrespect to the photographer at all or in any way by making this or by making any other crop I've ever made. My intention with this crop was to make the subjects in it for more easily and clearly viewable, which I think this clearly achieves. The file/image was placed by its author under a 4.0 license that clearly gives the right for others to freely "remix – to adapt the work", which is what was done here. I did not use this crop to replace the original but to create a new version of it. The original version is still freely available for everyone to access and it’s made clear in the summary section that this crop is extracted from the original file and who its author is. There is also a possible copyright concern with the larger image including the entire sign so the smaller crop that focuses on the individuals is slightly helpful for that reason. I understand that there are plenty of images of the two of them but if someone wanted a clean image of them at that conference, this one and File:2022-06-26 Politik, News, Bundesparteitag Die Linke 1DX 1088 by Stepro (cropped).jpg are good. - The two subjects in the cropped version are not obscured by any other people. I presume you mean it cuts out other subjects in the photo? That was just a by-product of getting a clearer image of two subjects in the photo. The original version was not replaced and can still be freely viewed and accessed where every subject of the photograph is viewable. Secondly, I see no issue with the facial expressions of the subjects in question, nor as to why this should be used as a viable reason for speedy image deletion. - Hi @Túrelio, take a close look at the design of the new 5 euro note and the other once. It is completely different and the quality of the 5 euro note is much lower. It literally seems like a photo that was overlapped. So the question here is, where did the original file came from? Well... When I decided to put it into the Google image search, I came across this file, which is also a derivative work, but you can see how the 5 euro note and the other icons of banknotes look on the original file. - Let us imagine that this photo has been taken before 1938. Then it was firstly published, for example, in 2000. This means that the copyright term started in the year 2000 and will end in the year 2070. If you prove this image was published before 1951, then it will be in public domain. On the other hand, if this photo was firstly published after 1951, it is still under copyright. Russian law states that the archive has no copyright at all, and the rights of the anonymous author are protected for 70 years. Please check Civil Code of Russian Federation, Article 1281. — (In Russian: 1281 статья ГК РФ охраняет права анонимного фотографа в течение 70-ти лет после законной публикации. Необходимо доказать, что этот фотоснимок был законным образом опубликован до 1951 года. Если это получится доказать, тогда он находится в общественном достоянии. Но если снимок был опубликован после 1951 года, тогда авторские права фотографа всё ещё существуют.
