Cocks and roosters

We have a Category:Cocks and a Category:Roosters. I don't think there is any distinction. We should merge one way or the other (and apply the union of the supercategories and subcategories). --Jmabel | talk 05:31, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not exactly the same. According to [1] and [2], cock may refer to the male of any bird, while rooster is reserved for the male of domestic fowl and a few game birds. As the category is obviously meant to refer to the male of the domestic chicken, I think Rooster should be the category that's kept.
