English: This category refers to a section of the Waterberg in Waterberg DM, South Africa, not Namibia, and specifically that part (6,524 km², or a third) of the Waterberg plateau that was designated by UNESCO as the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve in 2001. Reference maps are available here: UNESCO map, map & description and bioquest maps. In 2011 an application was submitted to UNESCO to enlarge the biosphere from 654,033 ha to 1,727,614 ha, and to rezone the core, buffer and transition zones, see [1]. As of 2021 the Biosphere includes a national park, Marakele, and a provincial park, Mokolo Dam, as core areas.
