English: The Van Amringe Memorial, on the Morningside Heights campus of Columbia University in the Van Amringe Quad east of the Butler Library, was built in 1917-18 in the neoclassical style, and honors John Howard Van Amringe, the first dean of Columbia College, as well as a professor of mathematics. The Indiana limestone structure has 12 columns and a dome lined with blue tiles. It is 25 feel tall and 23 feet in diameter. (Source: Columbia Alumni News (July 1918))
