English: In addition to his famous photography of Native Americans, Edward Sheriff Curtis had a series of studios in Seattle with various partners, and later one in Los Angeles. Edward's brother Asahel Curtis worked for him in the late 1890s, but they had a falling out in 1900 over attribution of photos Asahel took in Alaska. Among many other partners and employees were his wife Clara Curtis and their daughter Beth. After Edward and Clara divorced, became the sole proprietor of the Seattle studio in 1919. Edward and Beth founded a new Curtis Studio in Los Angeles. Further information (and much more detail) on the site of the Curtis Legacy Foundation at [1] and [2].
