Palo Duro Canyon State Park — a canyon system with unique sandstone rock formations, located in the Texas Panhandle, near the city of Amarillo, Texas.

Formed by the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River abruptly dropping over the Caprock Escarpment, descending from the higher Llano Estacado (plain).
The first European explorers to discover the canyon were members of the Coronado Expedition, who visited the canyon in 1541.
