The fifth series was issued in two stages: the first half was issued as a complete series of twelve plates and accompanying letterpress. In December 1808 a further twelve plates numbered XIII--XXIV were issued together with letterpress pages 25--46.

The publication date of October 15 1799 is carried on the title-plate of the volume of plates; but each numbered plate carries its own publication-date: 1799 October 15 (pl. 1, 2), December 1 (pl. 3, 4); 1800 January 15 (pl. 5, 6). March 1 (7, 8), April 15 (9, 10), June 1 (11, 12); 1808 December 1 (pl. 13-24).
