The Martyrdom of Saint Peter of Verona was a 1528-29 oil altarpiece painted by Titian for the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Venice. It was held at the Chapel of our Lady of the Rosary until a fire completely destroyed both the chapel and the painting in 1867. A 1691 copy by Johann Carl Loth hangs in its place at the left nave of Santi Giovanni e Paolo. Reproduced as a print under Titian's supervision. |
