Italiano: La Nave Scuola Caracciolo fu un esperimento educativo voluto e realizzato da it:Giulia Civita Franceschi (1870-1957), che durò dal 1913 al 1928. La Franceschi ottenne la nave in disarmo "Caracciolo", ancorata nel porto di Napoli, dove raccolse bambini napoletani di strada (scugnizzi) privi di genitori oppure usciti dal carcere o destinati ad entrarvi. Sulla nave vivevano e furono istruiti ed educati per diventare marinai. I “Caracciolini” (come vennero chiamati gli scugnizzi), ricevevano con l’istruzione elementare, un tirocinio marinaresco, imparando tutto ciò che era necessario per condurre una nave mercantile o una nave da guerra. Infine la nave ospitò fino a 735 bambini e ragazzi. Alla scuola mise fine il regime fascista che nel 1928 pretese di integrare la Scuola per Marinaretti nell’Opera Nazionale Balilla. Oggi, presso il Museo del Mare a Bagnoli (Napoli) è ospitata una mostra permanente al riguardo, conservando esso anche tutti i documenti storici e le foto d'epoca relativi alla Nave Scuola Caracciolo.
English: The Training Ship Caracciolo was an educational experiment wanted and realized by it:Giulia Civita Franceschi (1870-1957), which lasted from 1913 to 1928. The Franceschi got the ship "Caracciolo" in disarmament, anchored in the port of Naples, where he gathered Neapolitan street children (scugnizzi) without parents or released from prison or intended to enter. On the ship they lived and were trained and educated to become sailors. The "Caracciolini" (as the scugnizzi were called), received with primary education, apprenticeship sailor, learning all that was necessary to lead a merchant ship or a warship. Finally, the ship was home to up to 735 children and teenagers. The school ended by the fascist regime in 1928 that claims to integrate the Marinaretti School in the Opera Nazionale Balilla. Today, the Museum of the Sea in Bagnoli (Naples) shows a permanent exhibition about it, preserving also all the historical documents and old photographs relating to the Training Ship Caracciolo.
