The complex was finished in 1539 and so the earliest Sinan works in town. The mosque originally was a square room with a central dome and in its front a porch with five bays. But in 1612 a second and identical room was added on the north, the north wall being removed and its place taken by a great arch supported on two columns. The mihrab was moved to the middle of the new east wall.
