This bridge carries the extension of Hartley Avenue over the Transpennine Way, formerly the North Liverpool Extension Line, into Rice Lane Recreation Ground. It is now a footbridge but formerly gave access to a brickfield (now the recreation ground) for the Aintree Brick Works on the other side of the railway line. The bridge has six rounded arches and a square one, under which the Bootle Goods Branch ran from Fazakerley Junction North.
