The owner, Phillip Sorrentino owned "The Brass Rail" at 1137 Hamilton, two doors to the west. Sorrentino owned five adjoining properties on the north side of Hamilton (1129-1137) and this was one of them. The Brass Rail concentrated primarily on steak sandwiches and grilled foods.

This BBQ Chicken venture began in 1955. The restaurant expanded into pork Barbecue and provided a menu of items for take-out. Parking was in the rear. This venture operated until the summer of 1965 when it was closed. It was later turned into apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors, with a storefront on the first, that is presently vacant.
