English: The Canadian Caper was a CIA operation during the Iran hostage crisis, in which 6 American diplomats, hidden by the Canadian embassy, escaped Iran by posing as a Canadian movie crew from the company "Studio Six", making a film named Argo, in 1979 and 1980. Two films — Escape from Iran: The Canadian Caper in 1981, and Argo in 2012 — were based on this event.
