Marble, H: 267 cm. Roman Period, 2nd century A.D. Perge
A statue of a Roman Emperor in armor, carved in a fine grained white marble. This statue lacks a portrait head or any attribute to identify which Roman Emperor it represents. It is on display in front of the museum. Next to it words by Atatürk stress how, in order to properly master a country, one needs to know its history and know the civilisations that lived on its soil.
